Last week I’ve finally visited the exhibition of Tim Walker in the Noord Brabants museum in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Tim Walker was the photographer that inspired me to become a photographer. I was so excited that his work was finally in a museum here in the Netherlands. I had to go there. Tim Walker created these photos specially for the exhibition. He has worked an year on this project and he had an unlimited budget. The serie is called ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ and he was inspired by the painting with the same name of the painter Jherominus Bosch. It’s a reaction on this painting. The photos are created in Northumberland, the favourite location of Tim Walker.
The photos were huge printed, which was impressive to see. Because of the big size the photos are really getting you. Tim Walker always works together with set designer Shona Heath. So it’s no guess she also helped with this project. The fun part of the exhibition was that they showed some of those set designs. What I love about Tim Walkers work, is that he shows fashion in a different way than the most photographers. It’s not just about the clothing, but also about imaginative. The photos of this project were more darker and more sensual, but still beautiful!
After wards I wandered around in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, because I actually never come here. It’s a beautiful city. I also couldn’t resist buying the photo book of this exhibition. The exhibition can be visited till the 25th of February 2018.
