Sander and I are back from our holiday in Antalya in Turkey. We often got the question if it was a good idea because of the circumstances in the country. I need to say, We haven’t feel any moment unsafe while we were there. We haven’t noticed anything. We enjoyed 11 days of sun, sea and the beach. We were staying in an all-inclusive hotel Porto Bello. We had very good weather every day. We didn’t just relaxed, we’ve also seen some beautiful places. We went on an excursion to Perge and Aspendos, which I had booked in advance. Perge is a Romain city and was one of the biggest cities of that area. Perge is also one of the best preserved cities of Pamphylia. During the excursion we also visited the amphitheater of Aspendos. This theater is in very good condition. They still use it for opera performances. We also booked an excursion via Corendon, but I’ll show that in part 2.
During the flight we had a nice view of Austria.
We’re finally at the hotel.
Our private beach of the hotel, which you could reach easily via a tunnel.
We had a nice view of the mountains when we were at the beach.
The hotel had it’s own photographer, which you often see at hotels at popular places. Most of the times you have to do really akward poses. We’ve seen a lot of it during our holiday. For example, an older couple who needed to lay on each other (literally) in the beach. The photographer tried to convince us for a photoshoot, but we didn’t want it. Later there was a pirate walking with this photographer. Before you knew it you were holding the parrot of the pirate. So we bought 2 prints of it. The quality isn’t really good, because this is a photo from the photo.
We were visiting the ruins in Perge and Aspendos, which I booked in advance. I didn’t knew at that time you could book this at our tour guide from Corendon. I advise you to this at you tour guide, that’s more reliable. I booked it on the internet and our hotel would receive 24 hours before the day our pick-up information. Which you can guess, they did not receive. At the end (with some stress) we got a mail with all the information. So it ended well luckily.
The ruins of Perge.
The Amphi theater of Aspendos.
It was really awesome to see. It was so impressive. I had never seen such thing before.
